Our plan was to bird all the birding hot spots, and discover some amazing places to photograph. This is best accomplished by residing in one area long enough to scout out the best locations, and to be present when the birds show up or the best light occurs. By volunteering in our National Parks and Wildlife Refuges we would have both long-term access to some remarkable locals and would also be providing some valuable service to these agencies. We had no idea how rewarding a lifestyle of service and stewardship would become, nor how important. This is our story.
