Inside the Lens at Heceta Head Lighthouse

Inside the Lens at Heceta Head Lighthouse

This First-Order, English-made, French Fresnel Lens has been revolving in the Heceta Head Lighthouse since 1894. It is six feet in diameter, eleven feet high and weighs over two tons. Hundreds of lead-glass prisms capture 90% of the lamp's output and refract the light into cohesive beams which can be seen 21 miles to see.
